Cat Guts

For five decades this amazing work of art has hung on a wall.
Longing to be rescued, and adored.

It is a 1813 Sweitzer, and it hasn't been played in so long that visually it is in immaculate condition.
On first inspection of the instrument, is appeared that someone had foolishly put on guitar strings as if to make do, but I was later to be told that it still adorned it's cat gut strings from some seventy years or so ago.

Once played by a violinist of the ABC orchestra, I cannot wait to get this back from the luthier and see how it sounds after such length in hibernation.
Stay tuned

xx
